ENVIRONMENTAL ADVISORY COUNCIL
November 6, 2002

ATTENDING: Chairman Ashton Jones, members Don Cook, Vicki Laubach, Chris Carroll, Jan Beale and Jim Wendelgass.

 

The chairman called the meeting to order at 5:05 p.m.

 

Jim Wendelgass gave the Board of Supervisors and Planning Commission reports:

 

Mr. Della Porta was in front of the Board of Supervisors on Monday, November 4, 2002 asking for direction on the sewer facility for the Griffith property; Castle Valley Consultants will review this issue. The November Planning Commission work session has been cancelled due to a scheduling conflict. The next regular planning commission meeting will be on Thursday, November 21, 2002. The Planning Commission will be working on the consolidated ordnance.

 

A review letter from Castle Valley Consultants regarding the Dunn subdivision was received. It addressed the following issues: Greenway Distance from property line, preliminary plan submission requirements, shared driveway and sewer systems. The Dunn's will be submitting a revised plan at which time the EAC will review.

 

Chester County Conservation District reviewed the Land Development plan for Jon Lines and found it to be adequate. The District has been reviewing this plan solely to determine whether it satisfies the requirements for erosion and sedimentation control. This plan will be on the Monday, November 11, 2002 Board of Supervisors agenda.

 

Weatherstone (Hankin Development) received a compliance notice regarding work being done at the site. The EAC will write a letter to the Board of Supervisors asking them to have Mr. Wideman respond to this matter. This issue will be on the December agenda.

 

A review letter from Castle Valley Consultants was received on October 14, 2002 regarding erosion and sedimentation control at Stonecroft. Chris Carroll made a recommendation seconded by Vicki Laubach, not to release any additional funding from the construction escrow money until this problem is addressed and resolved. All in favor.

 

Mulry and Cresswell Environmental, Inc. are representing Mr. Cullen, owner of the Sunoco on Route 401 and Route 100 at Ludwig Corner. This letter notifies the Township that they are applying for a temporary discharge permit to a nearby storm sewer system, Black Horse Creek.

 

David Frame submitted a Subdivision/Land Development plan for 3 acres of the Griffith track. This application has been distributed review and will be on next month's agenda.

 

Chris Carroll made a recommendation to the Board of Supervisors, seconded by Jan Beale, to put in a 4 way stop at St. Matthews Road and Horseshoe Trail and a 3 way stop at Pughtown Road and Kimberton Road. All in favor.

 

Unanimous approval was granted for the minutes dated October 2, 2002.

 

There being no other business the meeting was adjourned at 6:15 p.m.

 

The next EAC meeting will be Wednesday, December 4, 2002.
