WEST VINCENT TOWNSHIP
BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
MINUTES - MAY 30, 2000

(UNAPPROVED)

The administrative meeting of the Board of Supervisors, held in the Township Building, was called to order at 8:10 a.m. by Chairman Kenneth Miller; also in attendance were Supervisors Karl Brachwitz and Zoë Perkins, Township Manager Allen Heist and Township Solicitor Allan Greenwood.

An executive session was held regarding potential litigation matters; the administrative meeting resumed at 9:30 a.m.

Manager Heist and Code Enforcement Officer Robert Wideman advised the Board of a clogged sewer line to the Dougherty residence on Pughtown Road. Since this line was connected as part of the Kimberton Sewer Project, Valley Forge Sewer Authority along with Messrs. Heist and Wideman have looked into the situation, which occurred as a result of a mistake during installation. Initial cost estimates to relocate the line are $1000 - $2000, half to be paid by VFSA and half by the Kimberton Sewer Fund; VFSA will obtain contractor estimates for the project.

As a follow-up to a request for signage at the bridge located on Horseshoe Trail between Hollow Road and Mill Road, Manager Heist reported that the bridge width of 18' and cartway width of 15-1/2' meet PennDOT standards for a "Narrow Bridge" warning sign. Prior to considering the installation of signs, it was agreed that sight distance would be greatly improved by the removal of vegetation in the road right of way; Mr. and Mrs. LaCoff will be requested to clear the 50' right of way area within one week, after which if not complete, the area will be mowed and trimmed by the Township.

Phase 1 plantings of the Township Park Landscape Plan have been completed.

Robert Wideman will meet with Road Foreman Mark Hughes and Mike Hogga regarding excessive run-off in the area of Davis Lane and Horseshoe Trail; a design plan will be submitted to the Board of review.

Mrs. Perkins reported that the draft newsletter would be available for review next week.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 10:05 a.m.
