The administrative meeting of the Board of Supervisors, held in the Township Building, was called to order at 8:10 a.m. by Chairman Kenneth Miller; also in attendance were Supervisors Zoë Perkins and Karl Brachwitz, Township Manager Allen Heist, and Planning Solicitor Fronefield Crawford.
Gregory Stevens, President and Michael Hartnett, Vice President of Senior LifeChoice Retirement Living Services, were present to discuss the concept of an assisted/independent living center on the 24.8 acre Ordway Property, Conestoga Road east of Pottstown Pike. The Board suggested Messrs. Stevens and Hartnett examine on-site water and wastewater issues, zoning regulations, and contact adjacent property owner, Patrick McCabe prior to further discussion.
An executive session was held with Mr. Crawford to discuss the Hankin Conditional Use and Zoning Amendment application.
Wayne Grafton and Woody Zook, Ludwigs Corner Horseshow Association representatives, were present to discuss the Special Events Ordinance and accompanying permit. A notification process will replace the permit procedure (including security deposit and fees); Mr. Crawford will draft appropriate changes to the Special Events Ordinance and will review the Association's revised lease agreement.
Ludwigs Corner Fire Company representatives Jody Spangler and David Frame and Pennsylvania Firefighter/Fire Police Instructor, Tony Ricardo, were present to discuss the Ludwigs Corner Fire Police. When providing services outside of emergency operations (i.e. directing traffic for special events), donations for services will be sent to the Ludwigs Corner Fire Company and distributed to the Fire Police. Fire Police personnel will be covered by worker's compensation insurance for special events.
