BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
MINUTES - APRIL 5, 1999

The administrative meeting of the Board of Supervisors, held in the Township Building, was called to order at 8:00 a.m. by Chairman Kenneth Miller; also in attendance were Supervisors Zoë Perkins and Karl Brachwitz, and Township Manager Allen Heist.

Road Material Bids were received at the March 29, 1999 administrative meeting. Board members reviewed the attached chart listing all bids for F.O.B. and delivered road materials, with notations made for primary and secondary awards. Motion by Mr. Brachwitz, seconded by Mrs. Perkins to award bids as presented; the motion carried unanimously.

Bids for Equipment Rental - Road Maintenancewere also received on March 29, 1999. Board members reviewed bid prices received from R.W. Fetters, Inc. and Rittenbaugh, Inc. A motion was made by Mr. Brachwitz, seconded by Mrs. Perkins, to award the equipment rental for road maintenance to the lowest bidder, R.W. Fetters, Inc., per the attached schedule of equipment; the motion carried unanimously.

A motion was made by Mrs. Perkins to authorize Cathers & Associates, Inc. (the firm selected to provide architectural services for the proposed Township complex) to proceed with revisiting the schematic design phase in order to investigate other design issues, to dimensionally survey the farmhouse and draw the plans and elevation and prepare a quick survey of the barn for a fee of $3,750.00. The motion was seconded by Mr. Brachwitz and carried unanimously.

Motion by Mrs. Perkins, seconded by Mr. Brachwitz, to include Roadmaster Kenneth Miller as an eligible participant in the Township health plan, which includes health, dental and life insurance coverage for each employee and their dependents. The motion carried with Perkins and Brachwitz voting in favor and Miller abstaining.

A motion was made by Mrs. Perkins to concur with Officer Karl Jones' recommendation regarding the fire police membership applications recently received from Ludwigs Corner Fire Company. Background checks for Jeff Kimes and Geoffrey Germono were conducted and revealed no prior criminal history and valid PA driver's licenses; both applicants were recommended for membership. A third applicant was not recommended for membership due to a prior criminal history and suspended PA driver's license. The motion was seconded by Mr. Brachwitz and carried unanimously.
